Farmer's Market

Today was the day there is a Farmer's market downtown across from the Hospital. They have all organic grown food, veggies, fruit, cheeses, eggs, and home made soaps and jewelry, plus some crocheted things. We got mostly produce and some eggs.
Home grown organic produce: green beans, egg plant, zucchini, cucumbers, red sweet peppers, yellow squash and eggs
Chuck likes egg plant and we had that for supper. He fried it in some olive oil and put Italian seasoned bread crumbs on it and a slice of provolone cheese. Was it ever good.We also had pears, peaches, and cantaloupe with it. For meat we had baked salmon.

We have both been eating lots of fruit. Sometimes we cut it up but we have enjoyed our bullet blender and made smoothies quite a bit.Chuck has lost about 15 lbs. and I have lost 10 lbs. The doctor was concerned about my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure being too high. My sugar has come down and my blood pressure was down when I had my colonoscopy. So I am encouraged. Report: no polyps but a little diverticulitis spotted. He said I need to eat a high fiber diet. So that is what I'm doing. It sure makes you feel different and better.

I had written about the squirrels being pesky but some people have problems with deer eating things in their gardens. This afternoon as we looked out our window we saw 3 deer grazing at the back of our property. They were so pretty as they pranced around. There were 2 does and a buck. They live in the woods at the back and come out ever so often. It is neat to see wild life like that. Most of the yards next door on both sides of us do not have fences.

Tomorrow Chuck takes off again to drive the bus for the girl's volleyball team. They are going to Chicago to play their games. It will be a two day trip this time. It looks like the weather is going to be storms and rain so he will have to drive home in it. I will be praying that he keeps alert. They won't get back till midnight.

I love it when we see deer in our yard. Your dinner looked so good. I've never eaten egg plant so I don't know if I'd like it.
