For as long as I can remember Chuck has talked about someday owning a yellow car. He wasn't concerned what the make was, as long as it was yellow. At first he talked like he would like a yellow bug. One year I even bought him a small replica of a yellow bug for Christmas.

George and Lisa, who sold us the car. We will think of you Lisa
as we drive George's car and keep you and your girls in prayer always. We love you all. |
Recently he was talking to Jenelle Linden, whom we knew from our pastorate in Snover, in the 70's and who lived in South Bend when we were there. She has a sister Lisa, who lost her husband about 2 yrs. ago and he owned a yellow Ford Mustang (98). So Chuck told Jenelle to tell her sister that if they were ever going to sell it to let him know. Just recently they decided to sell it. We were not sure if we could afford it, but the price was right and they really wanted us to have it. We decided to buy it and knew it would be a good investment. It is one car that appreciates in value in future years.

We decided to make the trip today, to Lisa's with the two oldest grandkids, Savannah and Andrew. They were so excited to go with us. When we got there the car was sitting in the driveway waiting for a new owner.

Lisa had made some of her delicious chicken noodle soup and the aroma of it made our tummy's hungry. Pete and Jenelle met us there too, and it was good to see them. I even got to see Zoey, their little Maltese dog. It was Jenelle's dog, but now Lisa has her. Lisa's girls Alysha, Caitlin and Hannah all joined us for lunch too. We had not seen them since Jenelle's parent's 50th anniversary. They sure have become beautiful young ladies. We had fun sharing around the table, stories from the past, once again. It is always good fellowship at the Zook family table. (Eskro, Linden table too, plus Husteds)

Savannah and Andrew had to have a ride in the Mustang, so Alysha took them for one last drive in her dad's car. Then we were off and headed for Jackson, of course with the top down, convertible style. They had a windy ride. I got to drive the Pontiac home. When we got home we stopped to let Savannah off at her house and showed Julie and Sam our new car, took the boys, Jasmin and Julie for a ride.

We decided to stop at the Baldermann's new house that is being built, on the way to take Andrew home. They have the walls all up and roof on so it is really looking like a house now. Andrew was showing us his huge bedroom and where all the other rooms are to be. It seems very big and will be wonderful when it is finished, hopefully by Christmas. We are so happy for them.

Then on to see Cyndi and Nate to show them the new car and let them drive it and take their family for a ride. The weather was just perfect with blue skies, sunshine and fluffy clouds. We are counting this as one more blessing from the Lord. What a special day. To God's Glory, a perfect day!
