Time Keeps Moving On

Monday was a very full day. Chuck and our daughter Cyndi decided to go on a bike ride together and took four of the  older grandkids with them. It was a beautiful day for it, sunny and 74 degrees.

This is their second time riding on the Falling Waters Trail. They get to see deer and lots of wildlife and wild flowers. An extra special surprise came while they were on the trail. They found a Geo cache. If some of you don't know what that is, look it up on line at  http://www.geocaching.com/guide/default.aspx. It is really fun for kids to find these.

After the 10 mile ride they stopped at the Concord Grill to eat and celebrated Andrew's 11th birthday. The waitress treated him special for that and had extra things on the salad bar for him.

Meanwhile, back at home Julie and I were busy getting lunch for the other 3 grandkids. Karson, oldest, and the 2 little girls, Ava 4 and Jasmin 3, had quite a fun time before lunch. They dressed up in fancy shawls and Karson was the server and brought them tea and cookies for their tea party.

Dinner music was playing featuring Jay Kilgus on the piano (on CD). Then Karson turned into a teacher of ball room dancing. He danced with each of the girls and they did pretty well spinning around, like a ballet dancer. After all that pretend play it was time to eat lunch. We had pigs in the blanket, some chips, yogurt and cheese sticks, celery and dip, plus fruit smoothies. After that naptime was on the agenda while Julie went to pick up the bikes and riders in Spring Arbor and I picked up and washed dishes.

What a story the kids had to tell of their ride. Then everyone went home for awhile and around 8:00 PM we joined everyone at the Parlour for ice cream and presents for Andrew. The kids all ordered a "dare to be great" Sundae. The adults ordered individual sundaes. The kids also played in the arcade for awhile. Andrew opened his presents and was pleasantly surprised. What a fun, day we had. (I will add more pictures to this post later. My computer shut down and has to be fixed....

Oh what a delightful time you all had! I would love to have been there! But I would have been an outsider. These are memories the kids will never forget!
