Last week was our Vacation Bible School and it was quite successful. The grand total of kids was close to 300. And over 170 workers. Quite a few kids gave their heart to the Lord or renewed their commitment. And quite a sum was given for Missions. It was just a wonderful week. Thanks Candy and team.
On Tuesday I had an appointment with my new doctor and had a complete physical. Most things were normal but my blood pressure was up a bit and my sugar. So she said I was in the diabetic range and sent me to the medical supply store to purchase a glucometer. I knew before long I would be having to keep track of my blood glucose levels. My Dad was diabetic the latter part of his life. Lately I have been dizzy sometimes and had low blood sugar times where I couldn't see properly. All signs of what was coming. The good news is if I eat right and cut out sugar as much as I can and eat lots of fruit, I should be good. Also cutting out so many carbs and cholesterol foods. We have been using our magic bullet allot and drinking fruit smoothies. So I am feeling good. I've even lost 4 lbs. I changed some of my medicine to try to control it too. One of the meds were giving me some side effects so she replaced that one. So I'm doing a whole lot better.
On Sunday we went to church and then to a ball game in Lansing featuring the Lansing Lugnuts. On the way in they had pony rides so each of the kids road the horses.

We then went to our seats that were in a pretty good section to catch balls. Several balls came close but not close enough.

The game got started as the rain clouds started to roll in. They played 2 innings and then it started raining softly at first. Then it started to rain hard and they called a rain delay.

| Rain Delay |
We waited it out. All the grandkids were with us as well as their parents. It was fun in spite of the weather. We ate at the tailgate party sponsored by SAU before getting our seats so we were good to go. But after the rain came down hard I think it produced a little anxiety and adrenalin. So then we heard... Mom, I'm hungry. Can I get something to eat, drink, etc. So we went up to the concession stands in the rain. At least we could be under the roof there. If any of you have visited a ball park, you know they don't let you bring in any food. We found out why, so they could sell their food at $4.50 for ice cream sandwich, $3 for bottle of water, $5 for popcorn, $3 for coffee. We did get some popcorn and shared and a coffee to keep warm after getting wet. Ava, Max and Karson waited it out the longest hoping that their blanket would help them keep dry. After a bit, they came up the stairs to where we were with a very wet blanket and jackets.

But all in all, we had fun and after an hour or so, the sun came out again and we finished watching the ball game. The little girls made the best of it and played in the water puddle.

Some of us had umbrellas we shared too. The other team won but we didn't care that much. It was just fun to be together as a family.

On the way home we stopped for some supper at Applebees. We were hungry by then. Thank you Lord for being able to spend time with our family and we are thankful for rain.

I'm glad you're taking care of your health.
Who were the Lugnuts playing? They often play the Great Lakes Loons and they are our Midland team!
The played the Ft. Wayne Tin Caps. I'll watch when they play the Loons. Maybe we can root for your team.
